LONDON, 5 August 2015 – Data and comment from BullionVault today leads a note on the rise in private investment in gold from the Wall Street Journal, the flagship US financial site from New Corp's Dow Jones family of titles.
"Mom and pop investors are back in the business of buying physical gold," says the WSJ on its blog pages.
Reporting strong sales of coins by the US Mint, and a jump in Google searches to 'buy gold', the Journal also reports the heaviest trading day on BullionVault – "a UK online platform for trading physical gold and silver" – since October last year.
Indeed, Monday last week was "one of [BullionVault's] best days ever for opening new accounts," the Journal goes on.
