LONDON, 20 September 2015 – BullionVault's "highly successful" trading site for physical gold and silver is being applied to a new asset class, maturing Scotch whisky in barrel, reports The Sunday Telegraph – the UK's fifth-best selling Sunday paper.
"For the first time, private investors can readily buy small stakes in Scotch whisky years before it matures," says The Telegraph's report, noting that this new online market comes from BullionVault.
Launched in 2005, "One of the key technological hurdles Bullionvault overcame was the ability to link securely an investor's name with his or holding in gold or silver, which would be stored in a vault in London, New York or Singapore," the paper goes.
"The Scotch trading platform uses similar processes."
