BBC R4 Today: Let's Talk About Gold

LONDON, 29 May 2015 – BullionVault head of research Adrian Ash was a guest this morning on the BBC's flagship news show, Today on Radio 4.

Speaking after the 7am headlines with business presenter Tanya Beckett at the Today studio in Broadcasting House, London, "If you look over the last 18 months, the gold price is essentially flat in Dollar terms and in Sterling terms," Adrian said.

But that means "Gold has been doing relatively well when you consider the strength of the Dollar," he went on. And because "gold is very sensitive to interest-rate expectations," any further delay in the US Federal Reserve raising real rates of interest – over and above the rate of inflation – could spark a sharp move higher in gold prices.
