Wall Street Journal: Five Firms Vie for London Gold Fix

LONDON, 17 October 2014 – BullionVault's head of research Adrian Ash is quoted tonight by the Wall Street Journal in its report on the latest London Gold Fix developments.

Trade body the London Bullion Market Association said Friday it has shortlisted eight companies with 5 separate proposals to run the 95-year old process – the latest step "in a series of changes to the precious-metals markets as a result of scandals found in some global benchmarks."

"After the [London Metals Exchange] won the job of administering the platinum and palladium fixes earlier this week," the WSJ quotes Adrian, "we should expect strongly competitive pitches" at the LBMA seminar due to be held in a week's time.
