Hindu Business Line: Gold & Silver Fixes Needed in India

LONDON, 26 June 2014 – India's third-most read English language newspaper, The Hindu, today features comment from BullionVault in its Business Line supplement's report on the problems facing the world's daily gold and silver benchmarks, the London Fixes.

With the Silver Fix set to end in August after nearly 120 years, "Seven options [to replace it] are in the running," says the paper, quoting Adrian Ash, head of research at BullionVault – a full member of wholesale gold and silver trade body, the London Bullion Market Association.

"The significance of finding a replacement soon is clear," the paper goes on. "There is already much disquiet within the silver industry in India over the disappearance of the fixing – used in the industry to value inventories, audits and so on."
